Role: Technical Lecturer – Electrical Installations

Location: Central Bedfordshire College – Dunstable – Various Sites

Salary/Benefits: £33,048 - £38,169 per annum DOE, plus Market Supplement up to £10,000, 45 days annual leave plus bank holidays, Teacher’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, development opportunities.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

Overview

We are seeking a Technical Lecturer in Electrical Installations to join our Construction department at The Bedford College Group. Deliver engaging, practical teaching across Electrical Installation programmes. Plan curriculum, develop learning materials. Monitor progress, assess performance, provide feedback. Maintain safe learning environments, apply health & safety standards. Contribute to course development, team activities, and uphold safeguarding, EDI, and CPD.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject with Level 2 English and Maths, and up-to-date industry experience.
  • Able to deliver engaging teaching across vocational programmes.
  • Knowledge of assessment and quality assurance, strong health & safety application.
  • Strong communication, organisational, teamwork skills.
  • Committed to CPD, safeguarding, and flexible across sites.

Candidates will be subject to enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references, and vetting process. The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Candidates barred from working with children are advised it is a criminal offence to apply.
