Location: The Bedford College Group – Multi-Site

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £41,086 and £47,971 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 35 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About The Role

We are currently seeking a Quality Manager in Apprenticeships to join our Learning Excellence department at The Bedford College Group. As a Quality Manager, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Apprenticeship Quality Leadership – Lead quality assurance and continuous improvement across all apprenticeship provision, embedding high standards and sustainable improvement aligned to regulatory and awarding organisation requirements.
  • IQA, Compliance & Risk Management – Own and embed the apprenticeship IQA framework, ensuring robust processes, timely completion of EQA actions, risk identification and compliance with statutory and TBCG policies.
  • Quality Audits & Improvement Planning – Undertake curriculum health checks, audits and progress reviews, producing clear, evidence‑based reports and targeted recommendations to drive improvement at departmental and college‑wide level.
  • Stakeholder & Awarding Body Engagement – Act as lead contact for Awarding Organisations and EQAs, coordinating monitoring visits, external sampling and collaborative quality enhancement with curriculum and senior leadership teams.
  • College‑Wide Contribution & Compliance – Support wider Quality Manager responsibilities, cross‑college collaboration and events, while upholding safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and ongoing professional development requirements.

About You

  • Qualifications & Professional Credibility – Hold a CertEd/PGCE, degree or equivalent professional qualification, with strong literacy and numeracy and proven high‑impact performance in quality‑focused roles.
  • Apprenticeship Quality & Compliance Expertise – In‑depth knowledge of apprenticeship standards, KSBs, EPA plans, DfE funding rules, Ofsted requirements and awarding organisation expectations.
  • Quality Assurance, Data & Improvement – Experienced in IQA, monitoring outcomes, self‑assessment, auditing and report writing, using data insight to drive targeted action plans and sustained improvement.
  • Leadership, Influence & Collaboration – Strong coaching, mentoring and influencing skills, able to work across teams and stakeholders, provide constructive feedback, and support Heads of Apprenticeships effectively.
