Role: Programme Manager β Engineering
Location: Central Bedfordshire College β The Incuba
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between Β£41,400 and Β£47,971 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 35 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacherβs pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week β 52 weeks per year

About The Role
- Curriculum Leadership β Lead the development and delivery of engineering programmes that are innovative, industry-relevant, and aligned with employer needs and strategic growth priorities.
- Quality & Student Outcomes β Drive high standards in teaching, learning, and assessment to ensure student success, progression, and achievement exceed national benchmarks.
- Team & Resource Management β Manage engineering curriculum staff, oversee recruitment and development, and ensure consistent application of college policies and performance standards.
- Teaching & Professional Practice β Deliver a fractional teaching timetable in engineering, maintain awarding body standards, and support continuous improvement in pedagogy and learner engagement.
- College-Wide & Statutory Duties β Contribute to cross-campus activities, uphold safeguarding, equality, health & safety, and engage in ongoing professional development to support college-wide initiatives.
About You
- Qualifications & Industry Expertise β Recognised teaching qualification and a degree or substantial experience in an engineering discipline, with credibility in leading subject-specific provision.
- Leadership & Management Experience β Proven success in managing teams within Further Education, including course leadership, performance monitoring, and supporting Ofsted inspections.
- Curriculum & Quality Skills β Strong understanding of quality assurance systems, data-driven course improvement, and the ability to deliver high-quality learning experiences across engineering levels.
- Professional & Interpersonal Skills β Effective communicator and team collaborator with the ability to motivate staff, influence at all levels, and maintain professional standards and boundaries.
- Commitment & Flexibility β Willingness to travel across campuses, adapt working hours, uphold safeguarding and health & safety responsibilities, and engage in continuous professional development.
