Location: Central Bedfordshire College – Dunstable Kingsway Campus
Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £33,048 and £38,169 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 45 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses. Note – Salary and annual leave entitlement is for that of a Qualified Lecturer.
Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year
Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time UK based contract – Right to work in the UK required, no sponsorship offered. Any offer of employment will be subject to evidence of your right to work in the UK.
About The Role
- Deliver high‑quality teaching across a range of programmes and levels, supporting students to achieve success and realise their full potential.
- Plan and deliver up‑to‑date schemes of work, develop engaging learning materials and contribute proactively to curriculum development and innovation.
- Assess and verify student work to awarding body standards, monitor progress, maintain accurate records and contribute to quality processes and course reviews.
- Manage learner behaviour, support individual needs, facilitate tutorials and enhance learning through employer links, work experience and enrichment activities.
- Complete administrative tasks accurately, participate in recruitment and marketing activities, and uphold safeguarding, EDI, health & safety and college values across all activities.
About You
- Level 3+ qualification in Hospitality and Catering, Food Safety Level 2, GCSE English and maths, with strong industry experience across hospitality, catering and travel & tourism.
- Experience delivering and assessing Level 1–3 programmes, adapting teaching approaches, marking across awarding bodies and engaging learners effectively in group settings.
- Up‑to‑date understanding of hospitality and travel industries, with front‑of‑house expertise and proven ability to deliver high‑quality training and learner outcomes.
- Strong communication and organisational skills, able to meet deadlines, work collaboratively, promote the College’s reputation and contribute positively to team success.
- Committed to equality, safeguarding and health & safety, maintaining professional boundaries, delivering an inclusive learner experience, and working flexibly across College locations.
