About The Role

We are currently seeking an Associate Exam Invigilator to join our Examinations department at The Bedford College Group. As an Exam Invigilator, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Exam Conduct & Compliance: Deliver examinations in strict accordance with Awarding Body, JCQ and College regulations, maintaining professional integrity throughout the entire exam process.
  • Security & Confidentiality: Ensure all exam papers, scripts, materials and candidate information remain fully secure and confidential before, during and after each examination.
  • Room Preparation & Candidate Management: Prepare exam rooms, seating plans and required displays; issue papers or activate online exams; check ID; complete registers; and ensure candidates follow all rules, including no unauthorised materials.
  • Access Arrangements & Supervision: Provide approved access arrangements (reader, scribe, prompt), supervise candidates attentively, prevent malpractice and make required announcements at all examination stages.
  • Administration, Reporting & Statutory Duties: Complete all exam documentation accurately, return scripts in order, stay up to date with regulatory changes and uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity, health & safety and training requirements.

About You

  • Qualifications & Core Skills: GCSE‑level English and Maths (or willingness to achieve Level 2), with confident use of Microsoft applications such as Excel and Teams.
  • Customer Service & Inclusivity: Strong experience in customer‑focused settings, working effectively with diverse groups and consistently creating a welcoming, supportive environment for students and customers.
  • Teamwork, Initiative & Reliability: Proven ability to work both independently and as part of a team, demonstrating honesty, confidence, reliability and a willingness to learn.
  • Organisation & Performance: Excellent organisational skills, ability to work within procedures, meet deadlines, and evidence of high performance in previous roles.
  • Communication & Flexibility: Confident face‑to‑face communicator with a flexible approach to work and working times.

What is an Associate?

Associates work on a short-term basis as assigned. They teach or provide support services, and they work with and are supported by core staff. As an Associate you will be issued with an Associate Agreement, under this Agreement period you will be eligible to work on assignments offered to you.
