Role: Digital Learning Excellence Coach

Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £34,680 and £48,919 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 35 days annual leave plus Bank holidays,Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week – 52 weeks per year

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Digital Learning Excellence Coach to join our Information and Learning Technologies department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Digital Learning Excellence Coach, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Technology Integration & Innovation – Leads the adoption of educational technologies across the Group, designing and implementing initiatives that enhance teaching quality and student outcomes.
  • Staff Development & Coaching – Delivers targeted training and workshops, supports new teaching staff, and inspires confidence in using digital tools to improve classroom practice.
  • Collaboration & Strategic Alignment – Works with curriculum leaders and stakeholders to identify digital needs, align solutions with strategic goals, and contribute to the Group’s Learning and Teaching Strategy.
  • Monitoring & Continuous Improvement – Conducts observations, evaluates impact, and reports on the effectiveness of digital initiatives, while staying up to date with emerging technologies and pedagogical trends.
  • Professionalism & College Engagement – Actively contributes to team culture, supports cross-college activities and events, and upholds statutory duties including safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and ongoing professional development.

About you:

  • Qualifications & Education – Holds full teaching qualifications (PGCE, Cert Ed, QTS), a relevant degree or vocational training, GCSEs in English and Maths (A–C), and is committed to ongoing academic and professional development including a Master’s degree.
  • Teaching & Learning Expertise – Demonstrates a proven track record of outstanding, innovative teaching across various levels, with strong coaching and mentoring skills, and experience in delivering impactful CPD and professional development.
  • Skills &Competencies – Possesses excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, strong emotional intelligence, attention to detail, numeracy, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and VLE platforms.
  • Professional Attributes – Highly organised and resilient, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively, maintain confidentiality, build professional relationships, and adapt to changing demands while promoting equality, diversity, and safeguarding.
  • Commitment & Values – Dedicated to continuous improvement, upholding professional boundaries, contributing positively to teams, and aligning with Bedford College Group’s values, policies, and procedures, including flexibility to travel across campuses.
