Location: Tresham College

Salary/Benefits: Salary is between £27,717 and £32,515 per annum (pro-rata) DOE and Qualifications, 27 days annual leave plus Bank holidays (pro-rata), People’s Pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

About The Role

  • Safeguarding & Student Support: Provide impartial advice and pastoral support to students, identifying and addressing safeguarding and wellbeing concerns to help them start, continue and successfully complete their education.
  • Case Management & Interventions: Record, triage and manage safeguarding cases through CPOMS, conduct risk assessments, deliver targeted 1:1 and group interventions, and coordinate referrals to internal services and external agencies.
  • Child Protection & Compliance: Fulfil statutory safeguarding responsibilities, manage child protection concerns and referrals, maintain accurate records, and ensure compliance with KCSIE, Prevent, local authority guidance, and College policies.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Awareness: Work collaboratively with students, parents, staff and external partners, provide safeguarding advice and training, and deliver wellbeing events to promote awareness, safety and positive student outcomes.
  • Customer Service & Team Contribution: Deliver excellent customer service, support College-wide initiatives including enrolment and open events, contribute to quality and compliance processes, and promote equality, diversity, inclusion, health and safety, and continuous improvement.

About You

  • Qualifications & Professional Development: Hold Level 2 English and Maths, a relevant Level 3 qualification, and a Youth Mental Health First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Student Support Expertise: Experienced in student welfare and information, advice and guidance services, with the ability to effectively support and communicate with students and staff at all levels.
  • Administration & Technical Skills: Strong administrative capabilities, including accurate record keeping, proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and databases, and the ability to produce professional written correspondence.
  • Organisation & Problem Solving: Highly organised with excellent attention to detail, able to manage workloads, meet deadlines, plan effectively, and use initiative to resolve issues.
  • Professionalism & Teamwork: Friendly, flexible and dependable, with a professional telephone manner, strong attendance record, and the ability to work collaboratively, motivate others and contribute positively to team success.
