About the Role: We are currently seeking a Deputy Head to join The Bedford Sixth Form part of The Bedford College Group.
- Strategic Leadership & Governance: Lead and support strategic direction, deputising for the Head and ensuring alignment with organisational goals, policies, and values.
- Academic Leadership & Curriculum Management: Oversee and develop curriculum, assessment, and academic standards to drive high-quality outcomes.
- Teaching Quality, Data & Student Success: Improve teaching quality and student achievement through performance management, data analysis, and strong support systems.
- People Leadership & Team Management: Lead, manage, and develop staff to ensure high performance, accountability, and a positive working culture.
- Operations, Resources & College Contribution: Manage resources, timetabling, and enrolment while contributing to wider college operations and activities.
Qualifications:
- Qualifications & Professional Development: Degree and teaching qualification with evidence of ongoing CPD; postgraduate or leadership qualifications (e.g. NPQSL) desirable.
- Post-16 & A Level Expertise: Strong knowledge of Post-16 education with proven experience improving A Level provision, leading teaching and learning, and delivering outstanding classroom outcomes.
- Data, Quality & Performance Management: Skilled in using data (e.g. ALPS, PowerBI) to drive student outcomes, manage quality assurance, implement improvement strategies, and address underperformance.
- Leadership, Management & Core Skills: Excellent communication, people leadership, organisation, decision-making and project management skills, with the ability to influence and lead high-performing teams.
- Personal Attributes & Compliance: High standards, resilience, integrity, and adaptability, with commitment to safeguarding, equality, professional development, and flexible working across campuses.
