The Academy are looking to appoint someone with previous school experience. Part of your duties will be to prepare materials and equipment for planned practical lessons, carry out risk assessments, keep check of stock and dispose of waste appropriately. You will ensure there is effective support for practical work across the Science department.

Your Duties Will Include:

  • Arranging for apparatus to be available for lessons and students
  • Preparing experiments, setting up apparatus and equipment for demonstrations and practical lessons
  • Preparation of chemicals and solutions
  • Assist in preparing experiments and clearing away afterwards
  • Prepare chemicals and solutions and dispose of appropriately
  • Promote the well-being of our students providing guidance and support

This is a permanent role starting 1 September 2025, working for 37 hours per week, term time only.

  • Assist the science teacher and/or pupils in supporting laboratory investigations across all Key Stages.

  • Be resilient and determined, and confident in talking to large groups of young people.
  • Be tenacious and well organised with good time management.
