BBC Radio Kent has a rare opportunity to join our talented team of broadcast journalists and programme producers based at Tunbridge Wells. We're looking for someone to produce our Daytime Show, which broadcasts across Kent every weekday from 10-2. The show takes on the big stories of the day affecting our listeners, and hears their views, offering a topical, engaging and entertaining listen.

In our newsroom, no two days are ever the same. One day, you might be setting up programme content, the next you could be studio producing a live show. You'll be great at telling the stories we cover in an engaging way. You will look to ensure a full diversity of voices, meeting high journalistic standards and observing the BBC Editorial Guidelines.
You'll be able to exercise editorial judgment in developing story ideas, producing accurate and impartial journalism. You'll have experience in setting up and producing great radio and you'll be able to tell stories from across Kent in a creative and dynamic way. You'll be a good team player and will be brimming with ideas on news stories to share with your colleagues and our audience.
Experience of delivering original stories that will shape the news agenda and working collaboratively with colleagues in order to achieve this. You will be able to tell stories in a creative and engaging way. Local knowledge of our broadcast area is essential, as is a passion for storytelling. Confident in dealing with breaking news scenarios. An ability to tailor stories for different audiences. You'll have the ability to recognise how we can share those stories in a variety of ways, not just on the radio, but on digital platforms as well. An understanding of the importance of diversity and inclusivity within the output you create.
