We are currently recruiting an experienced and dynamic Room Leader to join us in our beautiful nursery in the heart of Combe Down Village. We are looking for a Room Leader who has the passion, enthusiasm and professional skills to work within a team of early years practitioners in delivering a play-based curriculum that supports each child's learning and development. The successful candidate(s) will help shape & lead the high-quality childcare & education that we provide for the families who attend our nurseries.
The responsibilities of a Room Leader:
- To act as a key person for a group of children, taking responsibility for all aspects of children's safety, emotional well-being and learning and development.
- Build relationships with the child's parents/guardians/carer and others who are important in the student's life.
- Work with the senior team and regional SENDCO to continuously improve quality of childcare and education.
- Support the development of good practice in regard to the inclusion of children with additional needs and/or disabilities into nursery life.
- Adhere to the nursery's child protection policy and procedures to ensure that all the children have the opportunity to achieve full potential.
- Conduct effective child protection and safeguarding and continue to be aware of the responsibility to ensure areas of concern for a child are addressed and dealt with.
- Understand and continually follow Child Protection Procedures.
- Support the children to develop a positive attitude to food and healthy lifestyles.
- Proactively include children at mealtimes to create a social occasion and inclusion that promotes social and emotional development.
To be successful in this role you must:
- Possess level 3 or above (Full and relevant as defined by DFE).
- Have experience leading a small team and developing a play-based curriculum.
- Experience working with children with additional needs would be desirable.
- Passionate enthusiasm for Early Years, and motivation to continue your professional development.
