Location: Combe Down Nursery, Bath, BA2 5HY

Salary: £28,080 - £28,952 per annum.

Contract: Full time, Permanent. 36 Per week over 4 days. (Monday - Friday) 1 rolling day off per week, long weekend (Friday & Monday off) every 4/5 weeks.

We are currently recruiting an experienced and dynamic Room Leader to join us in our beautiful nursery in the heart of Combe Down Village. We are looking for a Room Leader who has the passion, enthusiasm and professional skills to work within a team of early years practitioners in delivering a play-based curriculum that supports each child's learning and development. The successful candidate(s) will help shape & lead the high-quality childcare & education that we provide for the families who attend our nurseries.

The responsibilities of a Room Leader:

  • To act as a key person for a group of children, taking responsibility for all aspects of children's safety, emotional well-being and learning and development.
  • Build relationships with the child's parents/guardians/carer and others who are important in the student's life.
  • Work with the senior team and regional SENDCO to continuously improve quality of childcare and education.
  • Support the development of good practice in regard to the inclusion of children with additional needs and/or disabilities into nursery life.
  • Adhere to the nursery's child protection policy and procedures to ensure that all the children have the opportunity to achieve full potential.
  • Conduct effective child protection and safeguarding and continue to be aware of the responsibility to ensure areas of concern for a child are addressed and dealt with.
  • Understand and continually follow Child Protection Procedures.
  • Support the children to develop a positive attitude to food and healthy lifestyles.
  • Proactively include children at mealtimes to create a social occasion and inclusion that promotes social and emotional development.

To be successful in this role you must:

  • Possess level 3 or above (Full and relevant as defined by DFE).
  • Have experience leading a small team and developing a play-based curriculum.
  • Experience working with children with additional needs would be desirable.
  • Passionate enthusiasm for Early Years, and motivation to continue your professional development.
