The successful applicant will be subject to DBS and health checks. We are seeking a personable and organised Receptionist to join our busy secondary school on a part-time basis. As the first point of contact for students, parents, staff and visitors, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and efficient school environment.,

  • Act as the main point of contact inreception
  • Provide a professional and corporate representation of the Academies
  • Welcome and assist visitors, students and parents in a warm andprofessional manner
  • Handle queries andquestions efficiently and in a timely manner
  • Answer and direct telephone calls and emails across both Academies
  • Support the administration team with general administrative tasks, including document preparation, booking appointments, typing, photocopying and filing, The Basildon Academies is focused upon developing the whole child; our curriculum has been developed to enable our students to develop their knowledge, understanding and skills so that they will become lifelong learners. This includes opportunities for linguistic, mathematical, scientific, technical, human, social, physical and artistic learning so that students make progress in a wide range of subjects.

We set high expectations of all our students and this, in turn, ensures we create a positive climate for learning in which every student can reach their full potential. Our Academy is a calm, orderly and purposeful environment where students enjoy their learning, make good progress and feel safe. Our Sixth Form is a major part of the academy with the structure modelling itself on developing independent learning skills like those seen in universities which allows students to continue their studies in their specialist subject areas. Students are very much encouraged to become mature adults being engaged in many aspects of the life of the academy which further develops those much needed skills to go on into university or the world of work.

  • Recruitment Pack Experienceworking in a school or busy office environment
  • A calm, professional manner and the ability to multitask
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organisational and IT skills (e.g. Microsoft Office)
  • The ability to work constructively and flexibly as part of a team, with an understanding of school roles and responsibilities
  • Salary Range: Band 2: £26,646 - £27,911 (Actual starting salary £9,681with annual performance-based increments)
  • Working Weeks: 39weeks (Term time), plus an additional 4daysto be worked in school holidays
  • Working Hours: 15hoursbetween 07:30-16:30 Preferably Monday and Friday
  • Contract: 1 Year Fixed contract
  • This post is presently based at our Lower academy. However, staff can be redeployed to either site dependent upon operational needs.
