Working in a team of technicians, this role primarily supports Design, Art & Technology but also provides assistance to other departments when required. The technician should be practical, organised and able to work positively within a team, supporting both students and staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing and preparing ingredients, materials and rooms for lessons and projects, including stocking classrooms with consumables.
- Assisting teachers and students during lessons, taking charge of a group of students to carry out the practical lesson as directed by staff.
- Preparing display materials and equipment for parents' evenings and clearing them away; assisting with preparation for whole school events.
- Keeping worktops, stockrooms and equipment clean, tidy, and in good order; maintaining all materials used in a clean and serviceable condition.
We are an aspirational academy operating across two sites. The Lower Academy specialises in the teaching of our Key Stage 3 students, whilst the Upper Academy specialises in teaching Key Stage 4 and 5. This position is based at our Lower Academy. Salary & Working Hours
- Salary Range: Band 3 FTE £28,351 - £30,681. Actual starting salary £24,316 with performance based yearly increments.
- Working Weeks: 39 weeks (Term Time) and Parent/Open evening as required.
- Working Hours: 37 hours per week (08:00 -16:00 Mon/Thurs and 08:00-15:30 Fri).
