The Bart Ingredients company has been sourcing and selling herbs & spices for over 60 years. A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Interim Production Manager to work in our facility in Severn Beach. The main purpose of this role is to drive the efficiency and productivity in the factory, whilst managing the labour budget and driving the food safety and health and safety culture forward. This is a fixed term contract from July 2025 – January 2026.
Main responsibilities:
- Strong leadership, overseeing all production requirements through Production Shift Managers
- Production team circa 100 staff over three shifts
- Performance related KPI reports
- Attend production related meetings
- Overseeing project data gathering and implementations
- Ad hoc staffing issues
- Proactively driving continuous improvement programme
- Guidance and mentorship of Production Shift Manager and wider team
- Production related Health and Safety oversight
- Production related Food safety oversight
- Hygiene oversight
- Identify any effectiveness and efficiency improvement opportunities and strategize corrective actions plans
- Working closely with Interim Head of Production, Facilities Manager, Technical Manager and senior Management team
- Reporting into the Interim Head of Production and Operations Director
Person specification/Qualifications/Capabilities:
- Proven experience in food production Management. Ideally within similar interim roles.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building capabilities with ability to motivate and empower staff.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
- Decisive and able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Hours and location of work:
