Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced and creative Public Relations Manager to shape and deliver the PR strategy across all our brands — The Barrister Group, Barrister Connect, and new initiatives as they launch. This role is about storytelling, influence, and visibility. You will develop and execute a proactive media relations programme that strengthens our reputation, secures high quality coverage in national, regional, trade, and digital media, and positions our barristers and spokespeople as thought leaders. You will work closely with our leadership team and barristers to craft campaigns that cut through, align with business goals, and support lead generation across both B2B and B2C audiences.
Public Relations & Media
- Develop and deliver a year-round PR strategy to increase brand reach and reputation across all TBG brands.
- Build and maintain relationships with journalists, editors, producers, and digital media contacts.
- Identify and secure opportunities for features, interviews, expert commentary, and opinion pieces.
- Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, articles, and media statements with accuracy and impact.
- Manage reactive and proactive media engagement — including crisis communications where required.
- Track media coverage, evaluate performance, and share results and insights with leadership.
- Collaborate with internal experts to position our barristers as media spokespeople and thought leaders.
- Ensure consistent messaging across all channels, reinforcing brand values and tone of voice.
Campaigns & Brand Awareness
- Work in the marketing team to plan integrated PR campaigns that support brand, SEO, and social goals.
- Identify emerging stories, legal trends, and national issues where TBG or Barrister Connect can contribute.
- Develop and maintain media kits, journalist resources, and Q&A materials.
- Support internal comms and employer brand activity to strengthen TBG's reputation in the legal sector.
Events (minor component)
- Support media-facing or brand-building events such as press briefings, panel discussions and our annual conference.
- Provide PR support for flagship internal or external events, ensuring media opportunities are maximised.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £38,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
