Objectives of this role:

  • Deliver a range of professional beauty and spa treatments.
  • Provide each guest with a high-quality, relaxing experience.
  • Maintain clean, safe, and welcoming treatment spaces.
  • Recommend products and aftercare to support guest wellbeing.
  • Uphold exceptional standards of service and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities

People

  • Welcome guests to the spa and build strong guest rapport.
  • Tailor treatments to individual guest needs and preferences.
  • Provide clear aftercare advice and product recommendations.
  • Support spa team members during busy periods or turnarounds.
  • Create a calm, caring, and respectful spa environment.
  • Handle guest feedback professionally and empathetically.
  • Reflect Brightstar values in all guest and team interactions.

Quality

  • Perform a range of treatments including facials, massages, manicures, pedicures, and waxing.
  • Keep treatment rooms and spa areas tidy, hygienic, and fully stocked.
  • Ensure appointments run to time and guest records are up to date.
  • Follow all procedures for cleanliness and sanitisation.
  • Stay current with beauty trends, products, and best practices.
  • Deliver consistent treatment quality to brand and training standards.
  • Promote spa etiquette and maintain a peaceful atmosphere.

Profit

  • Upsell retail products, spa packages, and additional treatments.
  • Encourage repeat bookings and loyalty from guests and members.
  • Use treatment time effectively to maximise daily capacity.
  • Monitor stock usage to reduce waste and control costs.
  • Support spa targets through excellent guest engagement.
  • Suggest ideas to improve guest experience and increase revenue.
  • Support the promotion of new services or special offers.

Responsible Business

  • Comply with all health & safety, hygiene, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Ensure guest comfort, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Handle treatment equipment and products responsibly.
  • Treat all guests and colleagues with fairness and respect.
  • Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.
  • Promote sustainability within spa operations (e.g., recycling, water use).
  • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and operational standards including any hotel-specific brand standards.
  • Complete all E-learning and mandatory training within required timeframes.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Friendly, calm, and professional approach.
  • Knowledge of spa, wellness, and beauty treatment techniques.
  • High standards of hygiene, discretion, and presentation.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple bookings.
  • Flexible and proactive team player.
  • NVQ Level 2 and 3 in Beauty Therapy (or equivalent qualification) (required).
  • Trained in Lava Shell and Hot Stone massages (preferred)
  • Experience in a spa, salon, or hotel setting (preferred).
  • Familiarity with luxury skincare or wellness brands (preferred).
  • Additional holistic therapy or advanced skincare training (advantageous).

Hours and dates can be discussed at the interview but the ideal candidate will be available every other weekend as a minimum.
