We are currently recruiting for a Junior Retoucher to join our dynamic and fast-paced Studio team at Barbour House, South Shields. You will support the Studio team in retouching high-quality product and model imagery for use across e-commerce platforms.
The role is primarily focused on e-commerce product retouching (accuracy, consistency, and efficiency), with the opportunity to gain exposure to creative retouching projects to support the wider team. You will learn and develop your skills in a fast-paced environment, working to deadlines while maintaining brand standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Retouch, crop, and prepare images to meet e-commerce standards, specifications, and brand guidelines.
- Follow departmental guidelines and best practices for retouching, colour accuracy, file management, and workflow.
- Support in carrying out quality control checks under the guidance of senior team members.
- Action feedback promptly and accurately to develop skills and ensure imagery meets expectations.
- Escalate any image or production issues to the Retoucher/Department Managers.
- Manage workload effectively to meet daily targets and deadlines.
- Contribute to improving efficiency by adopting departmental processes and learning new techniques (e.g., Photoshop features, automation tools).
- Consistently meet agreed daily KPI targets for volume and quality.
- Proactively develop technical and creative retouching skills, with guidance and mentoring from senior retouchers.
Requirements:
- Degree or Higher Qualification in Photography/ Graphic Design/ Retouch or equivalent working experience
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Strong brand awareness
- Commercial experience as a retoucher in an e-commerce/creative studio
- Confident technical understanding of PC/MAC, Adobe Photoshop and other creative cloud applications.
- A team player with a positive outlook and professional manner
- A confident and articulate problem solver
- Willingness to learn new processes and software
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Conscientious with a sharp eye for detail
- Proficient communicator
- Desirable – proficient knowledge of video editing software – Adobe Premier Pro
