We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Integration Developer to join our IT team here at Barbour House in South Shields during an exciting period of modernisation. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining enterprise-level integrations that connect our cloud and onpremise systems, B2B partners, and ecommerce channels. Using a modern API-led architecture, specifically the Salesforce MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, you will ensure reliable data movement across the entire Barbour ecosystem. This role is ideal for a technical problem-solver who enjoys working with SQL Server, SSIS, and modern API technologies to support a global retail brand.

Responsibilities

  • Design, build and maintain integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and CloudHub.
  • Build APIs utilizing REST, SOAP, JSON, XML and RAML.
  • Develop and optimise SQL queries, stored procedures and SSIS ETL packages to support data pipelines.
  • Implement seamless integrations between internal systems, cloud platforms and external trading partners.
  • Perform unit and integration testing while providing 2nd and 3rd level support for API failures and database errors.
  • Maintain technical specifications, data mappings and interface documentation.
  • Participate in design discussions with architects and work closely with project managers and external vendors in an agile environment.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrable experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Strong SQL skills, including performance optimisation and data transformation.
  • Solid understanding of API-led integration architecture and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Ability to convert complex business requirements into technical designs and troubleshoot across middleware and databases.
  • Experience using Azure DevOps, Git, Jira and Confluence within an agile delivery framework.
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent professional training and experience.
  • Experience in apparel, fashion or retail is considered a distinct advantage.
