Play a key role in structural design and delivery of permanent works across a range of building and infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Produce, check, and approve structural calculations, technical reports, and design documentation in line with UK standards.
  • Deliver detailed structural designs in steel, reinforced concrete, timber, and masonry using relevant Eurocodes and British Standards.
  • Coordinate closely with civil engineers, architects, contractors, and other disciplines to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Take technical ownership of projects from concept through detailed design and construction support.
  • Use and oversee the application of structural analysis and design software (e.g. ETABS, SAFE, Tekla, TSD, Robot, SCIA or similar).
  • Review drawings and models to ensure accuracy, buildability, and compliance with design intent.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to junior engineers and support their professional development.
  • Manage multiple projects and workstreams simultaneously, ensuring delivery to programme and budget.
  • Liaise with clients and stakeholders, clearly communicating technical solutions and responding to design queries.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards CEng with ICE or IStructE.
  • At least 7+ years of post-graduate experience in structural engineering.
