The Bar Council represents the nearly 16,000 barristers in England and Wales. It promotes the Bar’s high quality specialist advocacy and advisory services; fair access to justice for all; the highest standards of ethics, equality and diversity across the profession; and the development of business opportunities for barristers at home and abroad.
The Bar Council is the governing body and the Approved Regulator for the Bar of England and Wales. It discharges its regulatory functions through the independent Bar Standards Board.
Working under the leadership of the Services Manager, the Senior Services Officer will lead the Services Administrators in the day-to-day management of the portfolio of services offered by the Bar Council to its members and any affiliated organisations, associations, and individuals. They will be responsible for ensuring the effective operational delivery of the entire services portfolio and will work with the Head of Services to ensure the smooth running of the Services Team.
The Senior Services Officer will also assist the Head of Services with the research and development required to develop and implement new business partnerships with external service providers and suppliers, and income-generating products offered by the Bar Council to its members.
The role requires an enthusiastic and adaptable individual, who is highly organised and has an eye for detail. They will need to have excellent communication and effective leadership skills to fulfil the role.
