In this role you will lead global Trade Finance Operations strategy and execution, shaping the operating model and performance across processing locations.

You will drive operational excellence, client experience, and risk controls while advancing data‑driven decisioning, AI‑enabled operations, and scalable automation.

You will manage multi‑country teams, collaborate with Technology and Product, and push continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Own global Trade Finance operations strategy, operating model, and performance outcomes
  • Lead multi‑country operations teams with global consistency and scalability
  • Shape capacity, workforce, location strategy, and vendor/partner engagement
  • Ensure daily operational integrity across payment rails with SLAs and risk management
  • Strengthen first‑line risk and control discipline, incident prevention, and regulatory adherence
  • Drive operational readiness for new products, market infrastructures, and regulatory changes
  • Build a data‑literate culture and define data elements, quality, and analytics roadmap
  • Implement AI/ML use cases for exception handling, anomaly detection, forecasting, and orchestration
  • Scale RPA and automation to reduce manual effort and improve STP
  • Lead end‑to‑end process reengineering, standardize workflows, and modernize tooling
  • Collaborate with Sales, Product, Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Finance to deliver client outcomes
  • Represent operations in governance forums and communicate progress
  • Build high‑performing, diverse teams; foster accountability and client‑obsessed culture
  • Invest in upskilling in data literacy, AI fluency, automation tooling, and agile methods
  • Key requirements
  • 15+ years of total work experience; 5–7 years in management
  • 12+ years in trade finance operations with multi‑site leadership
  • Proven track record in complex, high‑volume operations with strong SLAs and regulatory scrutiny
  • Experience implementing AI/ML and automation with measurable KPI improvements
  • Strong data literacy and ability to define data strategies and interpret analytics
  • Deep understanding of operational risk, controls, business continuity, and global regulatory requirements
  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma and agile delivery; leading end‑to‑end transformation programs
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication across Product, Technology, Risk, and front‑office
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or certifications (PMP, Lean Six Sigma Black Belt, data/AI) a plus
