We’re seeking a future team member for the role of Vice President, Full-Stack Engineer to join our team. This role is located in Manchester. You’ll join a team committed to delivering quality through TDD, Continuous Integration, and extensive automation. The team drives best practices department-wide, and you should be confident in promoting these standards.
The ideal candidate enjoys collaborating to solve technical challenges, leading workshops, and mentoring junior team members to enhance skills and growth.
In this role, you’ll make an impact in the following ways:
- Champion Engineering 2.0 practices by embedding AI-augmented development workflows across the team, driving measurable gains in velocity, quality, and innovation.
- Leverage AI coding assistants (Windsurf, Claude Code) and Model Context Protocols (MCPs) to accelerate software delivery, automate repetitive tasks, and elevate engineering standards.
- Design, build, and deploy intelligent, scalable solutions that integrate machine learning models, event streaming pipelines, and cloud-native services on Azure and AWS.
- Architect and implement data platforms using Snowflake for analytics and reporting, ensuring seamless integration with broader enterprise data ecosystems.
- Build and maintain real-time event streaming architectures (e.g., Kafka, Azure Event Hubs) to power high-throughput, low-latency financial data flows.
- Deliver robust full-stack solutions utilising .NET/C# and SQL where appropriate, ensuring clean, maintainable, and well-tested code across the stack.
- Lead technical workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions on AI-augmented development, machine learning integration, and modern cloud patterns.
- Mentor and uplift team members in adopting AI-driven engineering practices, fostering a culture of continuous learning and experimentation.
- Partner with Architecture and Data Science teams to define best practices for ML model deployment, data pipeline design, and cloud infrastructure standards.
- Conduct thorough code reviews with a focus on AI-assisted quality, providing constructive feedback to enhance code quality and team expertise.
- Collaborate with the team and wider development community to cultivate Agile mindsets and practices, driving effective and adaptive workflows.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Demonstrated experience as an AI-augmented developer, with proficiency in tools such as Windsurf, Claude Code, and Model Context Protocols (MCPs) to accelerate engineering delivery.
- Strong understanding of Engineering 2.0 principles – using AI and intelligent automation to fundamentally enhance how software is designed, built, tested, and deployed.
- Hands-on experience with machine learning concepts and the ability to integrate ML models into production applications and data pipelines.
- Proficiency with Snowflake for data warehousing, analytics, and building scalable data platforms.
- Experience designing and building event streaming architectures using technologies such as Apache Kafka and Azure Event Hubs.
- Strong working knowledge of Azure and/or AWS cloud services, including compute, storage, serverless, and container orchestration (e.g., AKS, EKS, Azure Functions, Lambda).
- Solid experience with .NET/C# and SQL Server for building enterprise-grade applications and data access layers.
- Expert knowledge of design patterns, SOLID principles, and modern architectural patterns (microservices, event-driven, CQRS).
- Experience and knowledge in Agile delivery (ideally with Scrum experience).
- Experience delivering high-volume, highly available enterprise applications in regulated environments.
- Strong knowledge of TDD, Continuous Integration, and automation practices.
- Experience with modern CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
- Ability to critically analyse designs and code, providing constructive and actionable feedback.
- Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
