Overview
As Senior Vice President, Head of EMEA Pensions, you will lead the design and oversight of pension programs across the EMEA region, ensuring regulatory compliance, governance excellence, and alignment with the broader rewards and wellbeing strategy. You will act as the primary subject matter expert on pensions, guiding complex initiatives, managing vendor relationships, and advising senior leaders on risks and opportunities. The role shapes future pensions strategy, financial wellbeing, and executive benefits programmes from London. You’ll partner with HR, Finance, Legal, and Risk to drive cross-functional impact.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute the EMEA pensions strategy aligned with business goals and regulatory requirements
- Oversee all EMEA pension arrangements and implement regulatory changes with external advisers
- Manage the International Pensions Governance Framework and reporting, ensuring controls and documentation
- Represent BNY in UK pension trustee meetings and governance forums with stakeholder management
- Lead pension benchmarking and market reviews to keep programmes competitive
- Act as the primary SME for complex pensions and retirement matters across EMEA
- Own strategic relationships with pension providers, trustees, administrators and consultants across EMEA
- Serve as Business Owner for pension vendors under the vendor management framework and governance
- Monitor provider performance via KPI/SLA reviews and drive continuous improvement
- Coordinate day-to-day UK pension matters including governance calendar, statements and reporting
- Document and continuously improve pension processes, controls, and desktop procedures
- Lead the annual UK Incentive Sacrifice Scheme governance activities
- Support corporate activity (acquisitions, divestitures, new country launches) from a pension perspective
- Manage pension budgets, cost centres, and financial reporting across EMEA
- Oversee Executive Financial Benefits Programme and related offerings
- Design and implement Financial Wellbeing initiatives to enhance retirement planning
- Collaborate with Benefits Delivery and Rewards teams to ensure consistent pension programme delivery
Key requirements
- Strategic pensions leadership across multiple EMEA locations (UK, Ireland, Poland)
- Significant experience managing pension programmes in a large multinational
- Strong governance, compliance and regulatory knowledge across EMEA
- Experience working with trustees, consultants, administrators and service providers
- Proven ability to lead complex projects and influence senior stakeholders
- Experience managing external vendors and governance-based performance management
- Strong commercial, analytical and financial acumen with budgeting experience
- Exceptional written and verbal communication translating complex concepts to business recommendations
