We’re seeking a future team member to join our Global Loan Operations team. This role is located in London, UK.

Responsibilities

  • Raise and manage new trade orders in BNY's proprietary order‑management and trade‑workflow platforms, tracking each trade through to settlement.
  • Oversee the LMA/LSTA par and distressed loan closing process, serving as the escalation lead to ensure on‑time, accurate closings.
  • Support complex loan transactions and refinancings alongside our clients.
  • Analyze and interpret documentation for distressed assets (Credit Agreements, Shareholder or Co‑Op Agreements, etc.) to guide settlement and booking decisions.
  • Partner with third‑party settlement vendors on loan settlement and troubleshoot breaks or exceptions to maintain seamless, timely settlement.
  • Monitor intraday liquidity and optimize settlement allocations for multiple funds‑balancing urgency, efficiency and risk.
  • Research and process corporate actions and restructurings, driving outcomes that support fund objectives.
  • Track and resolve position breaks, escalating to the desk and technology partners as needed.
  • Continuously refine our operating model – identifying automation and process‑enhancement opportunities in partnership with BNY Technology, Treasury and Fund Finance teams.
  • Liaise with custodians, administrators and internal teams on trade, position and pricing queries.
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly reporting to senior management, compliance and external partners.
  • Collaborate with the Global Bank Loans Middle Office team – spreading best practices and fueling a culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 4–7 years hands‑on trade‑operations or settlement experience across syndicated bank loans.
  • Deep understanding of bank‑debt closing processes, credit‑documentation conventions.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills, with a track record of building models or tooling to drive efficiency.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills – able to distill complexity and “Own It” end‑to‑end.
  • Self‑starter who thrives under pressure, manages competing priorities and continually seeks to learn.
  • A collaborative spirit, committed to BNY's culture of knowledge‑sharing and team success.
