As a CAD Technician, you will play a key role in producing high-quality drawings for Balmoral's range of tank products. Using Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD, you will work closely with internal teams and customers to develop practical, cost-effective design solutions that meet both technical and commercial requirements. This is a varied, hands-on role with daily client interaction and the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement across the business.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Produce general arrangement (GA), production, detail and installation drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor.
  • Develop project solutions and drawings in collaboration with customers, ensuring requirements and budgets are met.
  • Provide clear and accurate drawings and specifications to support contracts, projects and production teams.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce costs and improve quality.
  • Ensure drawings are delivered to agreed deadlines, proactively flagging any potential delays.
  • Operate in line with company H&S procedures and policies at all times.
  • Monitor and advise on project budget utilisation.
  • Accurately record project time and input using timesheets.

Qualifications (Required):

  • A-Levels, HNC, HND or equivalent in an Engineering or Design discipline.
  • Knowledge of 2D and 3D modelling and drawing software.

Qualifications (Desirable):

  • Degree in Engineering or Design.
  • Experience using Autodesk Inventor and Vault.
  • Knowledge of draughting standards such as BS8888.
  • Familiarity with sectional or modular storage tanks.
  • At least 2 years' CAD experience (experience gained through education is acceptable).
  • Manufacturing or fabrication environment experience is desirable.
  • Reliable, flexible, and able to meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable working in an environment where accountability and ownership matter.
  • Willing to challenge behaviours that conflict with Balmoral's core values.
