Job Description

TheBaileys Hotel Londonis seeking aReservations Agentto assist our Reservations Lead in the smooth running of the department.

Working as part of the Reservations team, you will be responsible forhandling all rooms reservations enquiries to the required standards, maintaining accurate and complete records of all reservations, and taking every opportunity to maximize revenue potential for the hotel.


As a Reservations Agent, your key responsibilities include:

  • To answer all incoming Reservation enquiries, by telephone or fax, in a timely manner, to the agreed departmental standard, and wherever possible to convert them to bookings
  • To adhere to the Minimum Rate/Minimum Stay Selling strategies, whilst always attempting to gain the highest possible revenue advantage for the hotel.
  • To input Reservations into the OPERA cloud reservations systems, ensuring all details are accurate and complete in line with the agreed departmental standard.
  • To give a polite and friendly response to all incoming telephone inquiries.
  • To process all fax/letter enquiries and reservation confirmations on the same day as receipt.
  • To maintain accurate filing systems for all correspondence within the department, and ensure all filing is completed daily.
  • To maximise hotel revenue by taking every opportunity to up-sell and cross-sell products and hotel services whenever possible.
  • To build up a good rapport with customers / regular bookers on the telephone to encourage future loyalty and business opportunities.
  • To identify potential Sales Leads for the Corporate and Leisure Sales teams to develop future accounts.
  • To be aware of the Hotels financial targets and the contribution made by the reservations Team in achieving those targets.
  • To ensure a high degree of personal skills, accuracy and attention to detail, and a positive attitude.
  • To perform as part of a team, assisting colleagues where necessary and carrying out other relevant duties as requested by the Manager.


The experience & qualifications required as Reservations Agent are:

  • We are seeking candidates with previous experience in 4*/5* hotels in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of Opera System is a must.
  • Being fully conversant with Microsoft MS (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) is essential.
  • You will have exceptional communication skills and demonstrable the ability to drive business and promote all of the services at the Hotelto a very high standard.
