We\’re Changing The World

We love construction, and we want the whole world to love it too. Our incredible people wake-up every day and set-out to fundamentally change the perception of construction on this planet.

The B1M is the world’s leading video publisher for construction. Our award-winning productions have earned us the largest video audience in the architecture and construction sectors. We have more than 3.5M YouTube subscribers and 30M people watching our content each month. Our mission is to fundamentally change the world’s perception of this critical industry through our work.

We are looking for a full-time Video Journalist to research, produce, edit and distribute videos on our re-launched Tomorrow’s Build YouTube channel. In the past, this channel has focused on the future of construction, but we’re looking for someone to develop a fresh editorial approach. You’ll be the voice of this channel, which already has over 500,000 YouTube subscribers and established social media accounts.

The ideal candidate will be able to produce engaging explainer videos that appeal to a mainstream audience. Experience covering the construction and architecture sectors would be advantageous.

This is a unique opportunity to join a dynamic, growing business that’s disrupting media in a critical yet under-served subject area.

You should apply even if you don\’t meet every criteria. We\’re looking for an ambitious, driven individual who can produce awesome video content. If you can do that, you should apply.

This is a full-time role with a six-month probation period.

What you’ll do:

  • Pitch, research, produce and edit engaging videos for regular distribution on our Tomorrow’s Build YouTube channel.
  • Help shape and develop the content strategy for Tomorrow’s Build, including formats and series development.
  • Engage a non-technical audience, communicating the depth of our authority on the field without overwhelming viewers.
  • Develop outlines and scripts for video content in a timely manner, working with our Head of Content to perfect and craft the most engaging results.
  • Research and secure third party assets and visual evidence for videos (including licences and releases).
  • Ensure that all journalistic and legal standards are followed at all times.

What you’ll bring:

  • A proven track record of researching and producing engaging digital videos.
  • A highly motivated, entrepreneurial attitude with the ambition to grow the channel and create some of the best content on YouTube.
  • Proficiency in video editing software such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent.
  • Strong storytelling skills and an eye for detail.
  • Excellent organisation and planning skills.
  • The ability to work both autonomously at first on your own channel and to coordinate with your colleagues and line reports.

To Apply

Please submit a max two-minute video to Careers@TheB1M.com explaining who you are, your background and why you’re the best candidate for this role.

Please include links to three previous examples of your work in your covering email.
