About the role:
Reports to the Financial Reporting Manager. The Real Assets team works closely with clients to support investments into the development and rental/sale of residential, senior residential and student accommodation, as well as commercial and retail space across the UK. In this role, you will work within a small team of Accountants, assisting with the routine day-to-day accounting of fund structures under the direction of a Financial Reporting Manager.
What you'll be doing:
- Maintaining accurate accounting records, including the preparation of routine journal entries, inputting invoices and assisting with payment processing in Yardi, eFront or RealPage.
- Developing an understanding of the clients and industry, supporting the team in providing bespoke reporting within agreed deadlines to meet client needs.
- Responsibility for routine deliverables such as monthly and quarterly bank reconciliations, including sourcing supporting documentation to evidence transactions.
- Working with a small team of accountants, assisting with the preparation of management accounts and financial statements under IFRS, UK GAAP and/or Lux GAAP.
- Assist with the completion of routine audit queries.
- Assist in the preparation of VAT returns.
What we're looking for:
- A relevant Degree or A-Levels are preferred.
- Desire to study towards a relevant professional qualification such as ACA/ACCA (supported by the Aztec Group) is essential.
- Proficient computer literacy skills and ability to learn new systems.
- Confident and clear communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Good problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work to deadlines and balance study alongside work.
- A collaborative team player with a proactive approach.
