Our volunteers are a valuable asset to our care homes and teams. They help enrich residents' lives and stay connected to their communities. Opportunities range from school children volunteering to retired professionals giving back. Our volunteers are diverse, reflecting the communities we serve.
We are a not-for-profit organisation specializing in care homes for the elderly across England and Scotland, with 18 services in Scotland providing tailored care for various needs.

Volunteering opportunities are available on weekdays and weekends, during daytime or early evening, and are accessible by foot, bus, car, and train.
Travel expenses: Volunteers may need to travel outside their usual location; expenses are reimbursed according to the Travel and Subsistence Group Procedure. Each home may cover travel costs from the volunteer's home as a goodwill gesture. We aim to accommodate individual financial situations, so please discuss this with your supervisor.
Support: Volunteers will complete an online course covering safeguarding, dementia awareness, GDPR, and life in a care home. A meet and greet and a tour will be arranged. The online course takes about an hour, and the process typically takes 3-4 weeks.
Restrictions: Minimum age: 14. PVG checks and references are required for some roles.
Availability: Monday to Sunday, mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
Frequency & commitment: Flexible. Volunteers aged 14-25 can claim Saltire Awards hours. Find out more.
