The Fishermen’s Mission is the only national charity that works solely to support fishermen and their families. It offers practical, financial, and emotional support at all times to fishermen, veterans, and their families.
Main duties: Collection Box CoordinatorIf you love getting out and about but also want to support a cause in achieving its aim, then becoming a Collection Box Coordinator could be the right step for you. You will be involved in displaying our iconic collection boxes in your local community to help raise funds for the Fishermen’s Mission.
- Visit premises regularly to service the collection boxes.
- Establish and build relationships with site contacts, ensuring boxes are well positioned and visible.
- Empty and bank funds from the collection boxes, so you can see how much money you have helped us raise.
All volunteers will undergo an induction process and have the opportunity to meet regular staff from the Fishermen’s Mission to learn about our history. They will be supported directly by our Area Officer and receive guidance on all aspects of the role. Various online training options are available, along with potential opportunities for further external training in the local area.
AvailabilityVolunteers are welcome on the following days and times: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Volunteers aged 12-25 participating in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours.
