Geography is a key element of our social studiescurriculum, and we are looking for a leader who can cultivate a deep curiosityabout the world in our students.
You will be responsible for leading thegeography department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning, andoverseeing a curriculum that reflects the rapidly changing physical and humanlandscapes of the 21st century.
The ability to teach another Humanities subject, enriching the learning experiences of our students, would be an advantage.

- Bea qualified teacher (QTS) with a proven track record of outstanding geographyteaching.
- Havea deep subject knowledge and a genuine passion for the environment, sustainability, and global development.
- Possessthe leadership skills to motivate a team and foster a collaborative workingenvironment.
- Bean advocate for the subject, promoting geography as a vital discipline forunderstanding modern global challenges.
- Haveexperience in (or the potential for) coaching and developing other teachers.
THE ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
As Subject Leader of Geography, youwill
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implementa clear vision for the geography department that aligns with the school’simprovement plan.
- Curriculum Design: Lead the design anddelivery of a rigorous, sequenced, and engaging curriculum across Key Stages 3and 4.
- Teaching Excellence: Model outstandingclassroom practice and mentor departmental staff through peer observations andprofessional development.
- Fieldwork & Enrichment: Oversee a vibrantfieldwork program that brings geography to life beyond the classroom.
- Student Outcomes: Monitor and trackstudent progress, implementing effective interventions to ensure all learnersachieve their potential.
