What are we looking for?

Essential Knowledge & Experience Fluent in French (native or near-native) and English. Experience in translation, copywriting, or content adaptation. Clear, articulate speaking voice suitable for voice recordings. Desirable Knowledge & Experience (not limited to) Experience in voiceover work or podcasting. Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity. Previous involvement in nonprofit or media projects. Skills & Abilities Strong written and verbal communication skills. Attention to detail, particularly in translation accuracy and cultural nuances. Empathy and a genuine interest in the organisation’s mission. Ability to manage workload and meet deadlines. A collaborative mindset, willing to work as part of a remote team.

What will you be doing?

Main Purpose BonsaïBriefs is a personal finance podcast delivering daily, one-minute tips on money management, entrepreneurship, and personal finance. Our mission is to make you and your money smarter. We aim to equip young people with the knowledge and tools necessary to achieve financial literacy, succeed in entrepreneurship, and actively engage in the financial economy The Volunteer French Translator & Voiceover will play a key role in expanding our podcast audience by making content accessible to French-speaking listeners. The role involves translating podcast scripts from English to French, collaborating with the team to record French-language episodes and ensuring quality control when recording French speaking volunteers on Riverside.FM. Main Areas of Responsibility Translation & Adaptation Translate podcast scripts from English to fluent and culturally relevant French while maintaining the tone and message Ensure translations are accurate, engaging, and suitable for the target audience. Voice Recording Participate in remote recording sessions to deliver French versions of podcast episodes Sit in on recording session with other French speaking volunteers to ensure quality recording Collaborate with the podcast team to refine recordings and ensure quality. Collaboration Work with the podcast and communications team to address any linguistic or cultural queries Provide feedback to improve the overall quality of French-language episodes. Monitoring & Evaluation Assist in assessing the impact of translated episodes through listener feedback when needed Suggest improvements to ensure the content remains relevant and engaging. Other Requirements Maintain awareness and ensure compliance with organisational policies, including safeguarding, confidentiality, health and safety, and data protection Represent the organisation positively when collaborating externally on the organisations behalf. Undertake any additional duties relevant to the role and organisation’s objectives.
