About the Role

As a Volunteer French Translator & Voiceover, you will expand BonsaïBriefs – a daily one‑minute personal finance podcast – by translating scripts from English to French, collaborating on French‑language recordings, and ensuring quality control for remote voiceover sessions.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate podcast scripts from English to fluent, culturally relevant French while maintaining tone and message.
• Participate in remote recording sessions to deliver French versions of episodes and collaborate with volunteers to refine recordings.
• Collaborate with podcast and communications team to address linguistic or cultural queries and improve overall quality.
• Assist in assessing impact of translated episodes through listener feedback and suggest enhancements to keep content engaging.
• Maintain awareness of organisational policies (safeguarding, confidentiality, data protection) and represent the foundation positively when collaborating externally.

Essential Knowledge & Experience

• Fluent in French (native or near‑native) and English.
• Experience in translation, copywriting, or content adaptation.
• Clear, articulate speaking voice suitable for voice recordings.
• Experience in voiceover work or podcasting.

Desirable Knowledge & Experience

• Cross‑cultural awareness and sensitivity.
• Previous involvement in nonprofit or media projects.

Skills & Abilities

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Attention to detail, particularly in translation accuracy and cultural nuances.
