The Avenue Special Needs School, based in Tilehurst in Reading, supports over 250 pupils aged 3-19 with severe or profound learning difficulties, physical disabilities and autism. Conveniently located, the school is easily accessible via multiple local bus routes, and on-site parking is available.
It's a great place to work with friendly colleagues, an excellent work life balance and good terms and conditions of employment. We are looking for an Admin Assistant who will support the recording, monitoring and reporting of staff sickness absence and attendance across the school.
Your role will involve recording all staff sickness absences accurately on our system, receiving and processing absence requests and notifications from employees and managers, tracking return to work dates and notifying managers when return to work interviews are required, ensuring self-certification forms are completed and monitoring absence against school triggers.
The successful candidate will:
- have demonstrable administration experience, ideally within a HR Department
- have good literacy and numeracy skills
- be highly proficient in Microsoft office
- have good communication and organisational skills
- be flexible, reliable, a good team player and some-one who likes using their initiative.
