The Avenue Primary School and Children’s Centre is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and efficient Midday Supervisory Assistant (MDSA) to support our children during lunchtime provision, starting in September 2025. This part-time position is a key component of our lunchtime operations, ensuring pupils are provided with a healthy and enjoyable meal experience.

Working Hours: Part Time (5.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 38 weeks per year, no Teacher Training Days).

We are a vibrant co-educational, non-denominational primary school, educating children between the ages of 3 and 11. Located in the charming garrison town of Warminster, Wiltshire, our staff are dedicated to creating a safe and exciting place for children to thrive and learn. Responsible for supervising and assisting children in the dining area and/or supervising them during inside/outside play, you will support other members of staff to ensure that our school lunchtime period runs smoothly while ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all children at all times. The role will involve the receipt and storage of school meal delivery, preparing and cleaning the dining area before and after lunch as well as serving meals to children.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has strong interpersonal and communication skills and is able to work with a variety of pupils and staff;
  • Has superb attention to detail and organisational skills;
  • Is self-motivated, dedicated and consistent;
  • Has the ability to deal with new challenging situations;
  • Is a strong team player who can use their own initiative;
  • Has a positive and flexible attitude;
  • Has First Aid training, or is willing to complete it;
  • Enjoys working with children and has the ability to devise creative indoor/outdoor play activities for them;
  • Is happy to assist with general dining hall/kitchen cleaning and maintenance duties.
