Positions Available
As services that operate 7 days a week, 365 days a year, our Clarence Gardens and Cypress Road services in Wakefield (West Yorkshire) offer essential respite care for adults with autism, learning disabilities, and/or physical disabilities. We’re looking for Support Workers to be primarily based at the respite services. However, there may also be opportunity to work across the wider Avalon services in West Yorkshire therefore candidates must be able to reliably travel within the Wakefield Area. Shifts are varied so full‑time, part‑time, and casual contract options are available. As part of this, there will be an expectation to work split shifts (7am‑11am and 2pm‑10pm). Flexibility is key for this role!
Responsibilities
As a Support Worker, you’ll be part of an experienced and passionate team delivering vital support to our customers, including personal care and administration of medication. In this Short Breaks service, your support will also be providing valuable respite for our customer’s friends and family – this is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference within your community.
Qualifications & Experience
You don’t need any previous experience or qualifications – we’re looking for compassionate, driven, and caring individuals who are enthusiastic about making a difference to people’s lives and delivering the highest possible quality of care. Whether you are experienced in care or are looking to start a new meaningful and rewarding career, our in‑house training team will ensure that you have all the skills you need to deliver your role with confidence. Appointment will be subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Certificate.
