Join Our Team as a Vehicle Technical Advisor. Are you an automotive professional ready for a new challenge? Passionate about vehicles and providing exceptional service? As a Technical Advisor at The AA, you’ll play a crucial role in assisting customers and contact centre staff with your knowledge and experience. Salary: £35,000 per year plus benefits.

Shifts: between 07:00 – 20:00 Monday to Sunday.

Location: Oldbury, dynamic working with flexible office days.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert advice to customers via telephone.
  • Act as the go‑to expert for customers seeking telephone fixes.
  • Support the business by sending patrols only where they are needed.
  • Provide essential technical support, advice, and repair fixes to our customers.
  • Ensure only attend vehicles in genuine breakdown scenarios.
  • Communicate efficiently and effectively resolve breakdowns.
  • Meticulously record data on the relevant databases.
  • Use various computer systems with confidence.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Be target driven and focus on achieving results.

Requirements:

  • Hold NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or an equivalent, plus substantial demonstrable experience in the Motor Vehicle Repair Industry.
  • Fixer / Problem Solver – utilising technical expertise to solve a variety of issues and find solutions to blockers.
  • Master Communicator – taking complex technical information and communicating it simply and effectively to customers and patrols.
  • Flexible – willing to work outside normal hours, on a roster basis that includes weekends.
