Shifts: As a patrol you will work on average 40 hour week with a variety of shift pattern options available, you have the flexibility to choose a schedule that best suits your personal and professional needs. The number of rest days you enjoy each year, as well as the length of your shifts, will vary based on the shift pattern you select.
As our Roadside Rescue Mechanic, you'll go the extra mile for our members. Anything can happen whilst driving, but we are the AA and we get everyone back on the road safely so the show can go on. More importantly, you'll be the friendly face of the UK's largest motoring organisation. To our members, you're the superhero. What will I be doing?
- Starting and finishing on your driveway paid from the moment you get in your van to the moment you get home.
- Working independently across varied locations and conditions, while remaining a valued part of a supportive team.
- Using your technical knowledge and clear communication to help ensure a positive customer experience.
- Solving problems on the spot, using your technical skills and calm approach to handle a wide range of roadside situations.
What do I need?
- NVQ3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience.
- It's essential that you have a full category B driving licence, with 6 points or less.
- Confidence using and adapting to new technology; we'll provide the tools, you bring the curiosity.
- Flexibility to work shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and Bank Holidays because breakdowns don't stick to a schedule.
