Are you ready to join? #LI-SJ1 #LI-Hybrid This is the job As our Senior Finance Business Partner – Commercial, you will be instrumental in maintaining the integrity of financial forecasts and reporting, including P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, and Cost to Serve. By collaborating closely with the Commercial team, you will drive cost savings, manage stock accounting, and oversee month-end reporting, ensuring our financial operations run smoothly. In this role, you will own financial forecast models, manage weekly performance reporting, and continuously improve our reporting, forecasting, and MI processes. You will provide accurate financial information, mentor junior team members, produce monthly business review packs, and support various ad-hoc projects. Building and maintaining key stakeholder relationships will be essential to your success. What will I be doing? Accountable for integrity of reporting, understanding and explanation of commercial performance for £300m Operational cost base. Business partner into the Road Operations Division to understand ongoing trading and activity, analyse scenarios and align understanding of performance against key metrics between the business and finance teams. Responsible for Stock management activities and ensuring inventory reporting is accurate and up to date, with use of a PowerBI reporting tool Act as a deputy where required to the Head of Finance in reporting and understanding the finance view for the Road Operations Division. Full understanding of underlying assumptions within modelling, supporting the update of these and allowing continued full use across commercial finance and wider business teams Effectively lead direct reports and mentor wider team members when required to drive forward change and meet the collective team deliverables Produce the monthly business review packs, for director and exec review meetings, including detailed commentary over cash and EBITDA performance, with all variances explained and understood Provide leadership within a framework of prudent and effective controls which enable risk to be assessed and managed to fit within the Board’s agreed risk appetite What do I need? Experience in a similar Business Partnering role, ideally in a company of comparable size and complexity. Experience in senior leadership stakeholder management. Experience in preparing leadership-level presentations and distilling complex technical topics for Exec or Board level. Ability to present financial information concisely and confidently to both financial and non-financial staff. Professional qualification of ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent is desirable but not essential if qualified through experience. Industry knowledge would be advantageous but not essential.
