This is the job: At The AA, we are accelerating an ambitious technology agenda that will help us deliver simpler, more connected experiences for our customers and colleagues. As our Technology Delivery Lead, you will take a leading role in delivering complex, high-profile programmes that span multiple technology areas and support some of our most important strategic priorities. This is a highly visible role combining hands-on programme leadership with Agile coaching, governance and delivery excellence. You will bring structure, clarity and momentum to complex initiatives, helping multidisciplinary teams navigate ambiguity, manage dependencies and maintain a clear focus on customer and business outcomes. Working closely with senior leaders across Technology, Product and the wider business, you will strengthen how we deliver at scale. You will champion modern delivery practices, build Agile capability and help create an environment where teams are empowered, accountable and continually looking for better ways to deliver.
What will I be doing?
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of large scale, customer focused technology programmes, establishing clear plans, governance, reporting and measures of success.
- Manage complex risks, dependencies, priorities and delivery challenges across multiple teams, technology domains and external partners.
- Champion Agile principles and modern delivery practices, providing coaching, facilitation and practical support to teams and leaders.
- Partner with senior Technology, Product and Business stakeholders to align delivery approaches, resolve blockers and maintain focus on strategic outcomes.
- Mobilise multidisciplinary teams around critical priorities, creating clarity, accountability and momentum in fast moving and evolving environments.
- Drive continuous improvement across delivery standards, governance, predictability and organisational capability.
What do I need?
- Strong experience leading large-scale technology or transformation programmes that have delivered measurable customer and business outcomes.
- Deep knowledge of Agile delivery principles, with experience applying, coaching or embedding Agile ways of working across multiple teams.
- Experience delivering complex programmes within financial services, another regulated sector or an environment with comparable governance and risk requirements.
- Broad technology delivery experience across multiple domains, such as digital products, platforms, cloud, data, infrastructure, applications or customer engagement technologies.
- Highly developed stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the credibility to engage senior leaders, challenge constructively and support effective decision making.
- The ability to bring structure and direction to ambiguity, with strong programme governance, problem solving, communication and facilitation capabilities.
Additional experience that would be valuable:
- Experience leading or developing others would be beneficial, alongside exposure to mobile applications, platform modernisation, cloud, contact centre technology or conversational AI.
