This is the job

This is an opportunity to take ownership of how we price our Home Insurance products at the AA, while also leading and developing a small team of Pricing Analysts. You will play a central role in shaping strategies that keep us competitive, fair and commercially strong, with responsibility for both technical delivery and people leadership. At the heart of the pricing function, you will analyse performance, identify emerging trends and refine models to support informed decision-making. Alongside this, you will line manage two Pricing Analysts, supporting their development and ensuring high-quality output across the team. Your work will help strike the right balance between delivering value for customers and achieving business objectives, directly influencing product performance. You will also ensure that all pricing activity meets FCA Pricing Practices rules and guidance, embedding fairness, transparency and strong customer outcomes into everything we do. What will I be doing?

  • Leading the design, development and delivery of pricing strategies that optimise acquisition and retention
  • Driving the development and enhancement of pricing models, systems and methodologies to maximise value
  • Ensuring compliance with FCA Pricing Practices through robust implementation of regulatory requirements
  • Building and refining pricing models and test strategies to deliver high-quality analysis and insight
  • Analysing competitor activity and market trends to inform forward-looking pricing decisions
  • Supporting external partners by providing actionable insights to improve performance and outcomes
  • Strengthening controls and governance across pricing models, systems and analytical processes
  • Producing detailed analysis to support business cases, forecasting and financial planning
  • Delivering accurate, timely reporting through effective data extraction, validation and monitoring
  • Coaching and developing analysts within the team, fostering capability, performance and future talent

What do I need?

  • Proven experience in complex financial and consumer modelling, with a strong focus on insurance pricing
  • Strong technical capability, with experience using tools such as Radar Optimiser, Radar Live, Databricks or Power BI
  • Solid background in data-rich environments with experience in advanced analytical tools
  • Good understanding of pricing techniques within Personal Lines insurance
  • Experience applying lifetime value and customer relationship management strategies
  • Ability to deliver change across business processes and IT systems
  • Commercial awareness, with a clear focus on delivering value and business impact
  • Confidence communicating complex insights to senior stakeholders in a clear and engaging way
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan, prioritise and work independently
  • Motivation to continuously develop knowledge and skills, with a proactive and driven approach
