This is the job: We’re looking for an experienced Enterprise Data Architect to play a critical role in shaping how data enables decision-making, innovation and value across the organisation. This is a senior, high-impact role working closely with executive leaders, including the Chief Data Officer, to define and assure modern data platforms, governance and analytics capabilities. You’ll operate at enterprise scale, guiding complex transformation initiatives and ensuring data is trusted, well-governed and engineered to support both current and future business needs.
What will I be doing?
- Define and evolve the enterprise data architecture vision, ensuring alignment with long-term business strategy and transformation goals
- Lead the architecture design and assurance of enterprise-scale data platforms, including data engineering, analytics and governance capabilities
- Partner closely with executive and senior stakeholders to shape data investment decisions and provide clear architectural direction
- Drive complex data programmes and initiatives, supporting delivery teams across major transformation and customer-focused projects
- Establish and govern data architecture standards, principles and target states to ensure scalability, resilience and value realisation
- Champion modern data practices and emerging technologies to continuously improve data platforms and outcomes
What do I need?
- Extensive senior-level experience in enterprise data architecture or a closely related data leadership role
- Strong data domain expertise, particularly across data engineering platforms, data management and data governance
- Proven experience delivering complex, large-scale data initiatives such as data mastery, customer data platforms or enterprise analytics programmes
- Demonstrated ability to operate credibly with C-suite and executive stakeholders, including Chief Officers
- Broad experience across modern data technologies, architectures and frameworks in hybrid and cloud environments
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to translate complex data concepts for technical and non-technical audiences
