Role Overview
As a Roadside Assist Mechanic on the AA Patrol, you will work an average 40‑hour week on flexible shift patterns. You’ll provide quick, reliable assistance to members, returning them safely to the road while representing the AA’s friendly and professional image.
Responsibilities
- Start and finish service calls from the moment you get in your van until you return home, with all hours paid.
- Work independently across varied locations and conditions while being a valued part of a supportive team.
- Apply technical knowledge and clear communication to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Diagnose and solve roadside problems on the spot, using your technical skills and calm approach.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent qualifications with appropriate experience.
- Full Category B driving licence with 6 points or less.
- Comfortable with new technology; our tools will be provided.
Shifts and Schedule
Flexible shift patterns available, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays. Shift length and rest days vary based on the pattern you choose.
Compensation and Benefits
- Estimated £50,300 per year.
- Guaranteed year‑1 earnings of £36,685 (inclusive of allowances) with OTE up to £47,000 for top performers.
