This is a brilliant opportunity to play a key role in supporting the AA Group with expert legal and regulatory advice. You will work across a range of regulated contracts, including roadside assistance and personal lines insurance, helping to shape commercial decisions and protect our customers and business. You will partner with teams across the organisation, providing clear, practical guidance in a fast-paced environment where your expertise will make a real impact. What will I be doing?
- Drafting, negotiating and advising on a wide range of regulated and non-regulated commercial contracts.
- Providing practical legal support on new business opportunities, products and strategic ventures.
- Supporting the management of legal and regulatory matters across regulated entities.
- Collaborating with Risk and Compliance teams on key regulatory requirements and developments.
- Advising on legal, commercial and regulatory risks across AA products, services and partnerships.
- Driving best practice, efficiency and continuous improvement across legal operations.
- Balancing commercial opportunities with regulatory obligations, including Consumer Duty requirements.
- Monitoring legal and regulatory changes and supporting the implementation of new legislation.
- Working across diverse areas of the business, including insurance, consumer credit and financial services.
- Building strong relationships with colleagues and stakeholders across the AA Group.
What do I need?
- Proven experience advising FCA regulated businesses and negotiating regulated commercial contracts.
- Strong technical knowledge of insurance distribution regulation, including PRIN, SYSC, ICOBS and SMCR.
- In-depth understanding of insurance underwriting and wider financial services products.
- Experience across regulated areas such as consumer credit, personal loans, savings and consumer hire.
- Ability to communicate complex legal and regulatory advice clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Confidence influencing and engaging stakeholders to achieve commercial and regulatory outcomes.
- Excellent commercial awareness with strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Experience gained within financial services, either in-house or in private practice.
- Ability to balance legal risk with practical and commercial business needs.
- Strong relationship-building skills with a collaborative and proactive approach.
