Our mission is to keep Britain moving, and we're looking for dedicated individuals to join our team.

This is the job

You’ll join the AA's Insurance Broker Team as the go‐to expert for commercial insight across our Motor, Home and Van insurance products. You’ll dive deep into trading performance, uncover what’s driving our key numbers, and spot early trends that help us stay ahead of the market. If you’re hungry to build a reputation for delivering sharp, meaningful insight, this role gives you the platform to own high‐impact analysis and get your work seen at senior levels.

You’ll support the wider trading team with smart, ad‐hoc analysis on hot topics, shaping the conversations and decisions that influence both our daily and long‐term trading strategy. Owning our core trading KPIs, you’ll work closely with the Commercial MI team to ensure our dashboards are accurate, insightful and built for a fast‐moving trading environment. You’ll be the person people turn to for 'what the numbers really mean,' and you’ll play a key role in helping us trade smarter, faster and better.

What will I be doing?

  • Monitoring key trading KPIs, spotting trends early and flagging issues to support accurate forecasts and informed trading decisions.
  • Identifying emerging trading themes and developing fresh insight to help the team stay ahead of market shifts.
  • Collaborating with the Data and MI teams to keep dashboards relevant, intuitive and as automated as possible.
  • Acting as the trading team’s analytics expert, owning KPI definitions, historic performance knowledge and analytical best practice.
  • Supporting the wider broker trading teams with high‐quality analysis and deputising for the Head of Motor Trading when required.
  • Integrating external insight such as Pearson Ham, eBenchmarkers and PCW data to create one cohesive trading story.
  • Ensuring all analysis is accurate, timely and clearly explained, with efficient data extraction and cleansing.
  • Challenging internal trading data and assumptions using enriched insight to guide and influence the trading agenda.

What do I need?

  • A strong commercial analytics background, ideally gained within financial services or a subscription‐based environment, with a proven track record of delivering accurate KPI‐driven insight.
  • Passion for commercial performance, with the confidence to work proactively and independently when needed.
  • Ability to simplify complex analysis, making insight clear and actionable for commercial stakeholders.
  • High numerical capability, including hands‐on experience with data manipulation and advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience using BI and analytical tools, with Power BI knowledge considered a strong advantage.
  • Sound commercial awareness, with an understanding of how analytics supports wider strategic and trading objectives.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to influence non‐technical audiences.
  • A collaborative working style, comfortable partnering across teams to drive trading performance forward.
