In this role you will lead the rollout and ongoing maturity of The AA's Data Governance Framework, partnering with stakeholders, privacy, information security and risk teams. You will define and publish data definitions, ownership, RACI, lineage and data quality measures to improve core data assets. You will oversee governance forums and change requests, and coach the Data Governance team while deputising for the Head when needed. This position enables data-driven decision making across risk, operations and customer outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead rollout and maturity of the Data Governance Framework, tools, processes and roadmap
- Define, capture and publish data definitions, KPI definitions, ownership, RACI, lineage and data quality measures
- Drive improvements in data quality, transparency and value of core data assets, with business cases to fix issues at source
- Manage governance forums, stakeholder meetings and change requests with clear priorities and actions
- Partner with Data Privacy, Information Security, Risk and Compliance to align with regulatory and control requirements
- Lead, coach and support the Data Governance team and deputise for the Head when required
Tasks:
- Strong practical experience in data governance in a senior or preparatory leadership capacity
- Hands-on with Microsoft Purview or similar data governance tool (glossary/catalogue, lineage, data quality)
- Solid understanding of data concepts: warehousing, BI, analytics, ownership, definitions, lineage, quality and retention
- Working knowledge of regulations governing data in financial services
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication; able to chair forums and influence senior stakeholders
- Strong planning, problem-solving and delivery skills; coaching or people management experience
