As a Business Investment Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring The AA’s strategic investments deliver measurable and sustainable value. Working within the Transformation function, you will analyse and appraise investment opportunities, develop robust financial models and embed benefit-tracking methodologies that provide clear visibility of performance across our portfolio. Partnering closely with senior stakeholders, Finance and programme leads, you will translate complex data into actionable insight, support high-quality decision-making and help build accountability for delivering committed returns.
This is a highly analytical and commercially focused role, suited to someone who thrives on solving complex problems and shaping outcomes that have meaningful business impact. You’ll bring a strong focus on outcomes and a genuine curiosity to challenge and improve existing approaches. You’ll take accountability for delivery, collaborate effectively across teams and apply structured, evidence-based thinking to solve complex problems and you’ll be equally comfortable shaping strategic direction and delivering detailed, hands-on analysis to turn ideas into measurable results.
What will I be doing?
- Design and embed robust benefit and value tracking frameworks, using driver-based analysis to provide forward-looking insight across the investment portfolio
- Develop high-quality financial models and analysis to appraise commercial opportunities and support investment decision-making
- Partner with accountable executives, project leads and Finance to build compelling business cases with clearly defined and measurable outcomes
- Monitor programme performance to identify risks or deviations in cost, schedule and benefits, providing clear recommendations
- Consolidate complex analysis into concise, impactful Board-level reporting and presentations
- Contribute to continuous improvement across investment governance, forecasting accuracy and portfolio management processes
What do I need?
- Advanced financial analysis and Excel modelling capability, with the ability to translate data into actionable commercial insight
- Strong experience developing, investigating and evaluating solutions to complex commercial opportunities with meticulous attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to design and implement benefit/value tracking methodologies that drive accountability
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with confidence to challenge constructively, influence decisions and build alignment at senior levels
- A strong understanding of investment appraisal, financial controls and business case development within a complex organisation
- Clear and compelling communication skills, able to present complex information in a structured and accessible way
