The AA Business Services division is looking for an experienced Bid & Proposals Manager to join our high-performing Bid Team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in securing profitable business by managing the full bid lifecycle and delivering compelling, customer-focused proposals. Working closely with our new business and account management teams, you'll create high-quality, compliant bid responses that reflect the AA brand, tone of voice and customer needs. You'll collaborate across a wide range of B2B sectors including Drivetech, Accident Management, SMR, Connected Car and Roadside Services, giving you exposure to diverse and exciting commercial opportunities.

What will I be doing?

  • Managing the full bid lifecycle, from qualification and storyboarding through to submission, ensuring all deadlines and customer requirements are met.
  • Delivering high-quality, compelling bid responses and proposals that align with the AA brand and tone of voice.
  • Coordinating tender activity across multiple Business Services sectors, including Drivetech, Accident Management, SMR, Connected Car and Roadside.
  • Maintaining customer tender portals and ensuring organisational information is accurate and up to date.
  • Supporting sales and account management teams by maintaining accurate pipeline reporting and bid visibility for senior stakeholders.
  • Managing and developing the bid knowledge bank to ensure content remains current, relevant and accessible.
  • Producing proposal documents and presentations that maximise opportunities to win new business and grow existing accounts.
  • Monitoring bid performance, reporting on success rates and supporting lessons learned and continuous improvement activities.
  • Conducting competitor and market analysis to identify trends, opportunities and ways to strengthen future bids.
  • Driving innovation within the bid process by adopting best practice approaches, including the use of AI and emerging technologies.

What do I need?

  • Proven experience managing bids and proposals within a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Strong track record of leading projects or cross-functional teams, ideally within B2B public and private sector organisations.
  • Excellent understanding of bid governance and the ability to embed robust processes throughout the bid lifecycle.
  • Confidence building relationships and influencing stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, persuasive content.
  • Strong working knowledge of CRM platforms such as Salesforce, alongside Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with legal, commercial and operational teams to deliver aligned bid responses.
  • Confidence presenting complex business propositions and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Experience producing concise, high-quality reports and working within strict corporate governance frameworks.
  • APMP membership, bid writing qualifications, automotive sector experience or exposure to FCA-regulated environments would be advantageous.
