Hours: 13:00 – 21:00, 37.5 hours / week

Purpose of Job: An opportunity has arisen within our Operations team. If you have good practical skills and thrive on making an impact this could be the role for you. The successful candidate must be willing to adjust their hours.

Main Duties:

  • Supporting the delivery of the production plan by acting as equipment operations expert.
  • Initial point of contact for equipment issues with appropriate escalation acting as the link between Production and Engineering teams.
  • Ensuring compliance with company standards, delivering line changeovers and start-ups in a safe and timely manner.
  • Responsibility for organising set up and change overs of production lines including hygiene preparation.
  • Ensuring line side spares are available to reduce downtime.
  • Line side consumables available in line with operational need.
  • Maximising the utilisation of equipment.
  • Completion of planned maintenance activities.
  • Ensure the prompt and accurate reporting of machine minder daily check sheet, shift handover report, health & safety start up checks.

Responsibility for problem solving: identifying deadlines and priorities and escalating appropriately from established triggers, solving, evaluating and monitoring any minor running conditions using correct tools and techniques, referring areas of concern to the Supervisor, Shift Manager and Engineering team as required.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:

  • Previous experience in a FMCG environment (Fast Moving Consumer Goods).
  • Knowledge and experience of Health & Safety requirements and legislation.
  • Working knowledge of machinery and equipment within the department and areas.
  • PC literate.
  • Good communicator both written and oral.

Preferred Skills/Attributes:

  • Educated to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Mechanical knowledge to NVQ level 2.
  • Understanding of asset care.
  • Mechanical and electrical appreciation training.
