Teaching Assistant Location: Smallfield, Surrey

Salary: £.- £. per hour (£, - £, actual salary dependant on qualifications) Plus £0 Welcome bonus

Hours: hours per week - Term Time only - Start time 8.am - Finish time Monday/Wednesday/Thursday 4.pm. Tuesday 5pm and Friday 4pm

Aurora Redehall School, Smallfield, Surrey is part of the Aurora Group. Aurora Redehall School supports pupils aged 6– with communication difficulties linked to Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). We are seeking passionate Teaching Assistants to join our school. You will be supporting high quality teaching and learning. Although Aurora Redehall is a primary school, many of the students are working at least 2 academic years behind their chronological age.

Key Duties:

  • To establish a warm, caring and supportive relationship with pupils in order to support them feeling safe and enabling them to enjoy and learn during their time at the School.
  • To promote and encourage independence and personal development.
  • Support the Class Teacher in all areas of the day to day running of the class.
  • To respond to the varying and changing needs of the school and adapt to any task presented to achieve the smooth running of the school.
  • Some physical intervention may be needed upon occasion, full training on this will be provided.
  • To promote pupils' cognitive, social, emotional, behavioural, physical development and spiritual well-being.

Please note that duties will vary and you will be expected to contribute to the overall aims of Redehall when required.

Skills and Qualifications

  • GCSE Maths and English qualification minimum Grade 4 or equivalent.
  • Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant Qualification (desirable but not essential).
  • Experience of working in a special school environment is highly desirable.
  • Team TEACH Training - desirable.
